‘The Traitor’s Wife’ Reading & Signings in Chicago & NYC Areas, Plus Other Exciting Updates

Hello all, and happy September! Wow, it’s mid-September already?! I saw pumpkins at Trader Joe’s the other day and I realized that my denial about summer being over needs to officially end. There are football games on the TV and pumpkins at Trader Joe’s. That’s just the way it goes.

I’m sorry for how irregular my updates have been the past few weeks — there has been a lot going on and I can’t wait to share all of the news, today and in the coming weeks.

First things first, we have a FABULOUS The Traitor’s Wife reading and signing set up for this Tuesday, Sept. 16, hosted by the Lake Forest Library at Gorton Auditorium. This event will be free to the public, and we’ll have copies of The Traitor’s Wife on sale, available for signing and personalization, thanks to our partners at the Lake Forest Book Store. Pick one up and knock off some early Christmas gift shopping, perhaps?! Barbara Rinnella will be doing the reading, and she does a fantastic job of bringing literary characters to life. So, if you are in the area and you are free, be sure to come by!

Next up after that, this Friday Sept. 19, I’ll be doing a signing at Antipodean Books in upstate New York. They are a great independent bookstore specializing in fine, old and rare books, so if you haven’t already done so, check them out.

Also in the works, I’ve been hard at work on the final drafts of The Accidental Empress and I could not be more excited to begin sharing this book! There are so many exciting moments in the writing and launching of a book, but perhaps this might be the most intense one–this period where you are so close to being done with the final editing and you are so close to launching it out into the world. I’m a jumble of emotions, but mostly just so very excited. I’ve fallen absolutely in love with Sisi, Franz Joseph, Andrassy, and the whole cast of complex and compelling historical figures. We will have the final cover for the novel any day now, as well as the official synopsis, early reviews, and other launch-related news bits. So, stay tuned for that… I’m also in the process of making over my Website to make room for book two. Move over, Peggy! Sisi needs her spot, too!

And finally, another reason why I have been somewhat out of pocket this summer and autumn is because I have been knee-deep in the research and writing for the NEXT book, to come after The Accidental Empress. More news on that to come very soon…

Happy reading to all, and I love hearing from you, so keep it coming!
