I just wrapped the whirlwind launch week for my first novel, The Traitor’s Wife! And what a fantastic time it was. While I enjoyed every single minute of this wild and exciting week, some of the highlights included the media hits I did on Fox & Friends, Good Day New York, Reuters TV, WSJ Live and others.
It was thrilling to see Kathie Lee hold up my book and give it a shout-out on the Today Show.
It was so neat to see professional actors bring my words to life during a reading at the Marjorie Dean Little Theater in Lincoln Center. The signings at places like Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million and at the Westside Y were a great time.
And how can I explain the feeling of seeing my book on the shelves in a bookstore for the first time?
Yes, it was a week of countless highs, to be sure. But the best part of all was just reveling and celebrating with the friends, family, and colleagues who have been along on this publishing adventure with me from the very beginning. People who believed in my story and encouraged me to write it, publish it, and share it.
Hands down, the emotion I am feeling most strongly right now is one of just overwhelming gratitude. While researching for The Traitor’s Wife, I got to learn about many of the Founding Fathers and Mothers who played such prominent roles in the creation of the United States. One of them was Benjamin Franklin, who is, of course, known for his sage writings and words of wisdom. Something Franklin said was: “there is no excess in the world so commendable as excessive gratitude.”
Well, that is what I’m feeling: excessive gratitude.
There is so much more fun still to come in the weeks and months ahead. Check back in here for the updates. And in the meantime, enjoy the book! And, most of all, thank you for allowing me to write for you!
With heartfelt gratitude,
Allison
